ASHLEY DeRAMUS
Ashley DeRamus, from Hoover, Alabama, shared her life story in being a clothing designer and entrepreneur, a model, singer, and national speaker.
We had a wonderful time with her, and her support team.
Ashley brought some of her clothing designs with her and attendees enjoyed shopping and purchasing her clothing!
Ashley's final session was all about teaching young ladies how to apply make-up and look and feel beautiful!
Make-up for this session was provided by Mary Kay Cosmetics, Barb Pageler, consultant.

Phylis Graney and ATP Staff presented multiple demonstration tables of new devices and inventions which have a vocational use.

This fun and Interactive session was all about avoiding behaviors that gross people out, and learning to practice good manners and behavior.

LEAD students provided more information during 2 break-out sessions, entitled "Out From Under the Rug." In small groups, they discussed mental health and learning disability issues, along with the transition to post-secondary education and/or the workforce. They shared with students how they have learned not to sweep issued under the rug, but use their challenges as a strength and become a better advocate for their needs.

Jeremiah Gardner of Mitchell, spoke about his career of being a custom motorcycle fabricator and winning a national competition with his bike in the Fall of 2014. He encouraged students to study hard, make the most of their academic training and stay in school. He showed the group how reading, writing, spelling, and math, are needed and used in his career.
"Working with your hands is not enough, you also need to work with your brain."

Nicole Ulvestad, School Psychologist, for ESU # 13,
presented information on how to prevent Head Injuries and Sports Concussions. Students were informed on how to take care of their brain, the most valuable organ of the Human Body.

Break-Out Sessions 2015
Lloya Fritz and Mary O'Hare of Lincoln shared information from a curriculum they authored. The curriculum is, "It's All About The Plan: The Student and the Individual Education Program (IEP)."
This course assists students with intellectual or developmental disabilities in understanding the IEP meeting and how to be a more involved participant in the meeting process.

Bob Hessler and his Search and Rescue Dog, Brutus, spoke to youth about their work with Scotts Bluff County Disaster and Emergency Response Officials. Students learned the unique services and talents of Brutus. This session was a conference favorite!

Members from the Scottsbluff Kennel Club helped students learn the costs and responsibilities of pet ownership. They also learned how to be safe around a strange dog and were able to learn some basic dog training tips.
